Migraine Headache Relief from Hormone Replacement Therapy

Finally, after 27 years, I have found the answer I have been looking for: a cure for migraine headaches.  I had been to over 25 doctors and many of those more than once.  None of them associated these excruciating, unrelenting, seven-day headaches with the hormonal changes that were taking place in my body.  These headaches occurred one week every month during the time of PMS.  No narcotic or pill would stop their duration or intensity.  Every month they would come:  three and one-half days on one side of my head and then three and one-half days on the other side.  I even had a hysterectomy hoping for a cure.

After 27 years of this torture, a friend suggested I see a fertility specialist by the name of Dr. Joseph Bird.  Given the fact that I had the hysterectomy, this advice did not seem sensible to me; however, out of desperation, I consented to go.  During the consultation, Dr. Bird said, “I believe I can help you.”  I for sure did not believe him but kept the next appointment.  After receiving the bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in the form of pellets, these migraines stopped.  I felt like I had been on a horrible roller coaster and finally got my feet on level ground emotionally, physically and mentally.  What a great miracle in my life that was:  to enjoy family responsibilities, vacations, holidays, and company without horrific, unending, hopeless pain.

My advice to all who are suffering from hormonal fluctuation is that that they first read Dr. James Dobson’s book titled What Wives Wish their Husbands Knew about Women (available on Amazon) to educate themselves in a kindly manner about perimenopause and menopausal symptoms.  Second, I would recommend a consultation with Dr. Joseph Bird in Chattanooga, Tennessee, one of the most educated and trained physicians in HRT.  He has helped all of the women I have referred to him and, of course, thousands more.  His office number is 423-899-0500.  He and his staff work with great knowledge, skill, and compassion for those in need.
