Egg Donation Recipients
The Fertility Center recruits and screens women who may qualify to donate their eggs. Rather than having to wait until donors become available, couples can choose from an established pool of the Fertility Center’s own healthy and willing participants through an egg donation program that complies with and adheres to both strict FDA guidelines and ASRM recommendations. The entire process can be handled in-house at the Fertility Center, so no additional fees for outside agencies or contracted services will be involved.
Because men and women achieving pregnancy through the assistance of an unknown egg donor face many emotional and ethical issues, the doctors and staff at the Fertility Center strongly recommend that each couple using donated eggs make time for a counselor. Patients using a known egg donor or choosing a surrogate are required to see a counselor.
Embryo Donation Recipients
Couples who wish to receive donated embryos are required to undergo the same screening process as participants in the Fertility Center’s IVF program. The cost for receiving donated embryos is $4,975 and does not include any obstetrical care or services after pregnancy is achieved.
The Fertility Center currently has a donated embryo list. As soon as embryos are donated to the Fertility Center, the couple with priority on the list is invited to preview the embryo profiles.
Women who will carry the donated embryos are scheduled for a preliminary exam by one of the Fertility Center’s reproductive endocrinologists. Prior to an embryo transfer, the uterine lining and hormone levels of each patient are monitored through ultrasounds and blood work.
Embryologist Susan Walker coordinates the program and can be reached at (423) 899-0500 ext. 215 or at email@example.com.
Sperm Donation Recipients
The Fertility Center does not currently accept sperm donations for monetary compensation. However, we do perform procedures using donor sperm and assist patients in need with purchasing donated sperm from Fairfax Cryobank.
